This role is focused on advancing a high-impact design system used across multiple web products, enabling teams to create cohesive, accessible, and high-quality experiences. You will architect and develop reusable web components, drive platform-level strategy, and collaborate closely with design, product, and cross-platform engineering teams. The position offers a unique opportunity to influence the scalability, performance, and maintainability of a shared system used across a suite of applications. You will be responsible for implementing best practices in accessibility, documentation, and testing while mentoring and guiding other engineers. This fully remote role emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and delivering elegant solutions that support a rapidly growing digital ecosystem.

Accountabilities:

  • Architect, develop, and maintain reusable web components using Lit and related technologies.
  • Serve as technical lead for the Yellowstone web platform, making architecture and strategy decisions.
  • Collaborate with design, product, Android, and iOS teams to ensure cohesive, accessible, and performant components.
  • Evolve component architecture to ensure scalability, flexibility, and long-term maintainability.
  • Advocate for best practices in accessibility (a11y), testing, documentation, and web performance.
  • Support automation and tooling to improve efficiency of component updates and releases.
  • Identify opportunities for AI integration and enhancements to developer and designer experience.
  • Contribute to fostering a culture of co-creation and shared ownership across the design system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in front-end or full-stack development.
  • 2+ years of experience working with design systems or reusable component libraries.
  • Strong proficiency with TypeScript, Web Components, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience integrating design tokens and theming systems across multiple applications.
  • Solid understanding of accessibility, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Experience collaborating with designers and product managers in Figma.
  • Ability to balance technical elegance with pragmatic solutions at scale.
  • Strong communication, collaboration skills, and alignment with company values.
  • Preferred: Experience contributing to multi-platform design systems, Lit or custom web component frameworks, Storybook, Playwright, performance optimization, and distributed team collaboration.
