Senior Technical Writer, Developer Documentation

In this role, you will craft high-quality, executable developer documentation and sample code that accelerates adoption of complex SDKs and APIs. You will bridge the gap between technical specifications and real-world developer workflows, creating reference implementations, starter templates, and CI/CD pipelines that ensure accuracy, usability, and scalability. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will leverage AI tools to optimize productivity, validate code, and enhance developer experiences. Your work will directly impact how independent software vendors and developers interact with the platform, ensuring fast onboarding, reduced support friction, and high-quality integrations. This role offers the chance to innovate, mentor, and shape best practices across developer documentation initiatives.

Accountabilities

• Build and maintain executable sample code demonstrating real-world SDK and API usage.
• Validate documentation accuracy through hands-on development and testing.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to keep sample code current with software releases.
• Create reusable templates and starter kits to accelerate developer onboarding and reduce repetitive support queries.
• Collaborate with the Developer Experience Lead to identify workflow friction points and optimize developer experiences.
• Design documentation workflows, contribution guidelines, and quality standards to support scalable content creation.
• Establish tooling infrastructure, including build scripts, linting, testing, and metrics to monitor developer success.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with 8+ years in developer documentation or building sample applications for technical audiences.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or similar.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and docs-as-code workflows using Git and Markdown.
• Proven ability to validate documentation through working applications and leverage AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude).
• Experience designing scalable documentation systems and processes beyond individual content creation.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with developers, engineers, and product teams.
• Preferred: Experience with graphics, simulation, or real-time systems, USD, OpenGL, Vulkan, Kubernetes, containerization, interactive tutorials, or developer onboarding materials.
