The Senior Risk Steward- Change and Strategic Risk is an exciting opportunity that will be part of the Enterprise Risk Management function. The successful candidate will be providing oversight of HSBC UK change initiatives to ensure that execution risks and NFR impacts associated with the Change are identified, assessed and managed so that the change can be implemented safely. Responsibilities may evolve to assist with additional tasks or projects to support the wider HBUK ERM department. In this role you will: Provide oversight of HSBC UK Change Initiatives and Value streams including but not limited to reviews of investment cases and associated Objectives & Key Results, ensuring that execution risks and Non-Financial Risk impacts are identified, assessed and managed so that the change can be implemented safely. This includes providing Resilience Risk Steward input, in partnership with the Resilience Risk Specialist teams where required. Support with management of HSBC UK Strategic Execution Risk in relation to internal control effectiveness including providing formal Review and Challenge of applicable Strategic Execution items (controls, issues, events) in line with Risk Steward responsibilities, including support with inputs to relevant operational risk reporting relating to Strategic Risks e.g. risk map, risk appetite Portfolio level oversight of HSBC UK Transformation Portfolio by providing change execution risk expertise, advice, guidance and challenge including understanding the impact of Transformation on the HSBC UK Resilience Risk profile. Lead the delivery of thematic reviews into concern areas across Strategic risks within UK RFB. Working with key change and strategic execution stakeholders in HSBC UK including, HSBC UK Change Execution, Group Investment & Execution Oversight, relevant Programme Managers and Sponsors, Enterprise Risk teams including Resilience Risk Specialists and the Risk Steward community. To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements: Excellent risk management knowledge, including sound understanding of the Risk Management Framework. Strong experience of Transformation, Change Framework and change initiatives. Strong level of business knowledge and understanding of Resilience Risk. Experience in dealing with complex problems by adopting a pragmatic approach, identifying, and prioritising core requirements and translating them into a clear set of required activities that address the problem and achieve the desired outcomes. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, challenge and influence stakeholders at all levels. This role is based in Birmingham on a hybrid working basis.
