In this role, you will lead the strategic direction and implementation of quality assurance and automation initiatives across complex software systems. You will provide technical leadership, mentor cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement in testing methodologies, tools, and processes. Accountabilities:
The Senior Principal SDET will oversee and execute the organization’s QA and automation strategy:
· Define and implement the strategic vision for system quality, behavior, and automation.
· Lead the development and maintenance of automated test frameworks and CI/CD integration.
· Provide senior-level technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering skill development.
· Drive continuous improvement in testing methodologies, performance, and security practices.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, architecture, and operations, to ensure quality goals align with business objectives.
· Oversee bug tracking, issue resolution, and adherence to coding standards and system security policies.
· Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and implement enhancements to QA and automation processes.
Requirements
Candidates should bring extensive experience in QA, automation, and software engineering leadership:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
· 10+ years of experience in QA and automation engineering, including leadership experience.
· Expert proficiency in object-oriented and multi-threaded programming (Python, Java, or C++).
· Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Docker, Terraform) and cloud platforms (AWS services, databases like Snowflake, Aurora, DynamoDB).
· Deep expertise with test automation frameworks (Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG) and performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner).
· Knowledge of security compliance standards (SOC, FedRAMP, GDPR) and secure coding principles.
· Proven experience in backend development, complex system integration, and SDLC/agile methodologies.
· Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
· Preferred: cloud-based testing, advanced security testing, QA or test automation certifications (ISTQB, CSTE).
