This role is crucial for supporting financial accounting and reporting activities specific to life insurance. As an Insurance Accountant, you will work closely with a team to ensure accuracy in GAAP and STAT close cycles while handling critical financial reporting deliverables. This fully remote position allows for collaboration with diverse stakeholders and requires a strong understanding of insurance-specific accounting requirements. Your contributions will impact the financial health of our partner’s life insurance operations effectively.

Accountabilities

  • Perform GAAP and STAT financial accounting, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations and insurance-specific financial reporting packages.
  • Support financial reporting requirements across life insurance, annuity, and retirement products.
  • Work within established corporate accounting processes using PeopleSoft (primary GL) and potentially HFM for consolidation and reporting.

    • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, or related fields.
  • 5+ years of insurance accounting experience, including GAAP/STAT close and reconciliations.
  • Qualified applicants must reside in the continental U.S.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future.
