- Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers to ensure electrical integrity and smooth system integration.
- Select components, such as connectors, terminals, wires, and protective materials, to meet performance, environmental, and cost requirements.
- Create and maintain detailed design documentation, including schematics, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and engineering change orders (ECOs).
- Support manufacturing and integration teams by troubleshooting design issues and ensuring assemblies meet quality and compliance standards.
- Adhere to industry standards for harness design and contribute to continuous improvement of design practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 6+ years of experience designing electrical wire harnesses, routing in complex assemblies, and producing 2D/3D CAD documentation.
- Proficiency in CAD software for harness design (e.g., RapidHarness, SolidWorks Electrical).
- Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and design documentation control.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as IPC and NASA harness design guidelines.
- Hands-on experience with harness fabrication, including crimping, soldering, and prototype assembly.
- Experience with version control systems and managing documentation releases.
- Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools is a plus.
Benefits
