Senior General Operative Nightshift Application Deadline: 1 January 2026 Department: Fabrication Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: Scarva 2 Fabrication Yard Reporting To: Site Supervisor Description Team Overview: The Fabrication department is responsible for the off-site manufacturing of bespoke mechanical and electrical systems, including prefabricated plant rooms, skids, and modular assemblies. Operating from our dedicated fabrication facility, the team ensures high-quality workmanship, precision, and compliance with project specifications. By delivering preassembled solutions, the department helps reduce installation time, improve safety on-site, and maintain consistent quality — all while supporting efficient project delivery and innovation in modular construction. Role Overview: As Senior General Operative (First Ops – nightshift), you'll be based in the fabrication area and oversee First Operations (cutting, mechanical prep & kitting) and play a key role in supporting fabrication operations. You will report to the Nightshift Team Leaders but also work closely with the Site Supervisor and Production Coordinator at shift handover to dayshift. Down Hours | Monday-Thursday 7am-4.30pm, Friday 7am-1.30pm Salary | Competitive Depending on Experience Responsible to | Site Supervisor What You'll be Doing This role involves operating and maintaining material preparation equipment—such as bandsaws, bevelling machines and grinders—while training others in their safe and effective use. It includes leading team members, coordinating material processing to meet priorities, updating internal systems, and keeping accurate records. A strong focus on Health & Safety is required, including reporting faults, maintaining a safe workspace, completing risk assessments, ensuring only trained personnel operate machinery, and acting as a First Aider and Fire Warden. The role also supports training and development across the team, delivering job-specific instruction and promoting best practices. Quality responsibilities include working to specifications, resolving defects with Quality and Team Leaders, and ensuring timely progress of materials through production. The position requires monitoring workflow, addressing delays, and supporting on-time delivery while identifying opportunities to reduce processing time and material costs.
