This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Data Engineer in the United States.

In this role, you will be a technical leader driving the design and delivery of scalable, high-performance data solutions that support enterprise analytics and real-time operations. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and engineering teams to translate complex business requirements into robust data architectures, pipelines, and frameworks. Your expertise in batch and streaming data, cloud platforms, and observability will ensure data integrity, reliability, and accessibility at scale. This position balances hands-on engineering, architectural vision, and mentorship, providing opportunities to shape the evolution of a modern data ecosystem and elevate the capabilities of your team.

Accountabilities

·        Design and implement scalable, enterprise-ready data integration architectures using both custom frameworks and third-party tools.

·        Build high-throughput batch and streaming data pipelines, addressing challenges like low-latency processing, fault tolerance, and complex transformations.

·        Develop reusable libraries and components for reliable data ingestion, including retry logic, state handling, and performance tuning.

·        Implement monitoring, testing, and observability systems across the data lifecycle, driving adoption of automated testing and alerts.

·        Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and establish best practices for data modeling, testing, and maintainability.

·        Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business and analytics requirements into actionable data products.

·        Lead proofs-of-concept for emerging technologies, continuously identifying opportunities for technical improvement and innovation.

Requirements

·        5–8 years of data engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or lead role.

·        Strong proficiency in SQL and Python (or Scala) for data transformation at scale.

·        Hands-on experience with batch and streaming data processing and real-time analytics.

·        Expertise in cloud data platforms, preferably Snowflake or BigQuery.

·        Familiarity with data observability tools, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.

·        Experience designing large-scale integration solutions, resilient data workflows, and reusable frameworks.

·        Strong communication, mentorship, and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.

·        Preferred: experience with ELT tools (Fivetran, Airbyte), dbt or similar transformation frameworks, domain-oriented data products, event-driven architectures, and modeling approaches like Kimball or Data Vault.
