Security Guard – Law Enforcement Background Preferred

Apply your law enforcement education to real-world security operations in Ottawa!

We are seeking dedicated full-time Security Guards to join our team. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in protecting the client site, personnel, and visitors.

Only candidates with a law enforcement academic background (Police Foundations, Criminology, or other security-related programs) will be considered.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct regular patrols to uphold safety standards for visitors, tenants, and assets.
• Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents or emergencies.
• Escort medical staff including paramedics, police, and firefighters when required.
• Provide assistance during medical emergencies, including CPR and AED intervention.
• Unlock and lock doors for authorized personnel.
• Investigate and deter trespassers along site perimeters.
• Follow security breach procedures by notifying supervisors or appropriate personnel.
• Monitor CCTV footage and cameras for irregularities; perform dispatch duties including emergency response.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Postsecondary education in Law Enforcement, Police Foundations, Criminology, or equivalent.
• Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C certification.
• Valid full G driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong observational skills with the ability to detect and respond to threats.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
• Proficiency in using security equipment and technology.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including overnights, weekends, and holidays.
