There is currently 1 permanent (1 WTE) vacancy available in South East Palliative Care Centre, Waterford.

A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Occupational Therapist, Clinical Specialist, from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled across Dublin and South East Region

Purpose of the Post

The Clinical Specialist will be responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of an evidenced based, patient focused, quality Occupational Therapy Service, in palliative care across the region for patients under the South East Palliative Care Service.

The Occupational Therapist, Clinical Specialist will:

Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to:

· Provide evidence-based care to adults and children receiving palliative care in line with the national care guidelines and standards;

· Build capacity across primary care and other HSE services for early assessment of need.

· Work with the HSE Palliative Care Clinical Programme to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate a standardised, evidence-based model of service delivery.

· Be a resource and provide expert opinion, advice and guidance to occupational therapy colleagues within the region
