Verdant is a Global Specialty Chemical company serving regional and global customers in Home & Personal Care, Energy Solutions and Industrial markets. We have an opening for a Sales Manager for Europe, to join our EMEA Commercial Sales team. This role will be responsible for managing and developing/growing our base of Multi-National/Regional Customers and Global Key Accounts in Europe including the UK. The successful candidate will have a strong Chemical Manufacturing background and be competent in achieving sales objectives/goals to meet Company targets. Technical knowledge of Surfactants would be advantageous but is not essential. Responsibilities: Drive Sales Growth aligned with the Global Marketing strategy Implement global pricing guideline ensuring a sustainable pricing strategy as well as supporting commercial guidelines. Support activities and continued development into the market segments; Industrial with some focus on Personal care (HPC). Experience in either of these segments will be considered. Define, establish and drive implementation of the overall strategy for the customer portfolio in line with the strategy of the organization Support and implement the Distribution strategy Provide rapid and competitive response to customer requirements, in line with the company strategy. Define and implement a detailed Portfolio Plan at customer level with regular updates to key stakeholders Track actual financial performance against plan targets; identify potential gaps, and define corrective actions Plan, lead and effectively conduct contract negotiations with the business team and close deals Foster, monitor and coordinate the pipeline of initiatives within their customer portfolio Develop & deliver a Commercial and Technical opportunity pipeline Provide accurate forecasts to support planning needs Support both global innovation programs and product optimization linked to portfolio plans Develop and execute own customer portfolio plan integrating regional commercial strategies Have and develop in-depth knowledge about the industry and market, customers and competitors and have the ability to communicate such within the company & with customers Bachelors degree in business or science Proven experience of growing a customer base in both existing and new markets Commercial experience in the Chemical Manufacturing industry, completed Key Account training, ideally experience in another function (R&D, marketing) An outstanding knowledge of industry customers / prospects in several geographies and/or for a large/complex range of products/services English and +1 other European language would be advantageous Communication, organisational and analytical skills. Proficient with MS Office Applications.
