Description

We are seeking an interim team member to support operations at our Lower Sackville warehouse. This hybrid role combines hands-on warehouse responsibilities with administrative duties, requiring the adaptability and strong organizational skills. 



Responsibilities
  • Delivery of safety related training programs to associates (including but not limited to; new hire safety orientation, recertification of various equipment/fall arrest certificates) to ensure we are compliant with Federal/Provincial and Kent Requirements. Assist with employee onboarding.
  • Coordinates with support from JHSC (sits as a Co-chair), monthly inspection requirements to complete safety walks, fire prevention inspections, first aid requirements (including under the direction and support of AM Administration; maintaining the first aid certifications and stocking of first aid kits). 
  • Completion and maintaining accurate safety training records with recommendations on improving efficiencies related to reporting requirements. 
  • Key liaison with Management in providing information, topics, resources to support the weekly safety topics. 
  • Participate in weekly KENT safety call every Friday with KENT Box Stores under the direction of KENT Safety Manager. 
  • Oversee and administer/maintain and provide reports related to the Near Miss Safety Program and Toolbox Talks
  • Update and maintain HCM training database with all new hire training and additional associate training completed to ensure HCM is updated and accurate. 
  • Various HR administrative duties and special assignments as required. 
  • Dedicated to the safety role of administration, communication, training, education. Maintain data integrity system support for HR systems
  • Receive inquiries and requests from end users and troubleshooting to find a solution
  • Additional duties related to improving and reinforcing a safety culture as identified and assigned.


Qualifications
  • Knowledge/experience in the SAFETY FIELD would be considered a strong asset. 
  • Solid understanding of all required safety regulations, leads by example
  • High level of attention to detail, especially as it relates to safety is a key, core competency. 
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • HR or Safety certification would be considered an asset 
  • Ability to work well within a team and independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Ability to follow directions to ensure critical timelines are met based upon the needs of the business related to safety initiatives. 
  • Excellent computer skills: Excel, SharePoint, and Power Point. 
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. 
  • Flexible, positive attitude and ability to thrive in a changing environment. 
  • Experience in Intelex, Tableau Reader and My Learning would be considered a strong asset. 
  • Weekend/Evening shifts may be required on occasion
  • Detail oriented with a focus on ensuring date integrity and delivering high quality work.
  • Strong sense of urgency
