Role: Residential Support Worker Location: Ipswich, Suffolk Salary: £24309.07 per annum Contract/Hours: Permanent – Full Time – 37 hours a week Shifts are term time 7am starts and finishing between 11am and 2pm, 7am to 2pm, Weekends and Holidays 7am to 2pm, and 2pm to 10pm. Waking nights – 10pm to 8am, occasional sleep ins. Shifts are on a rota basis. Flexibility is required to be able to work shifts and 1 in 4 weekends off. A bit about the Service Hestia House is a warm welcoming 4-beded residential home supporting children 8-18 years with disabilities and complex needs. A bit about the Role Our Residential Support Worker guides a dedicated team through shifts with expertise and empathy. Their proactive approach to risk management, safeguards our young people’s wellbeing allowing us to deliver the highest quality of care. With a commitment to continuous improvement, they’ll ensure the wellbeing of our children and young people is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance, and advocacy. In your roles you create a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people to grow and develop, ensuring their wellbeing is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance and advocacy. You will play a vital role in helping young people transition into our service working closely with them to understand and meet their unique needs. You’ll support them in building confidence, independence, and life skills- maximising their opportunities for a bright and positive long-term future. This is a hands-on rewarding role where no two days are the same. How you’ll help create brighter futures Providing lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing, and managing risk. Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi agency and producing family information, including analysis and written reports. Attending professional meetings including reviews, court work etc. working collaboratively with your team with the primary aim of the provision of a high-quality service Supervising and guiding staff as required, in accordance with Action for Children policies and procedures. Leading by example with the application of Action for Children's policy procedures and professional practice standards and in line with registration requirements. Let’s talk about you Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge? We are looking for someone with a ‘can do’ attitude to join our team. Ideally you will have: Experience of leading Shifts in a Care would be an advantage but not essential as we will provide you with the opportunity to learn how to lead shifts Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) If you don’t have the qualification, we will provide you with studies to gain the level 3. Experience and training in safeguarding. An innovative and creative approach to problem solving. Experience of Developing/ experience of adhering to detailed support plans, this can then show willingness to adhere to complex support plans The ability to create a fun and safe environment for both staff and children in the home and in the community.
