Role: Residential Support Worker Location: Headington Salary: £25,500 per annum (dependant on qualifications and experience) Contract/Hours: Permanent Full Time - 37 hours a week, with a 2-week rolling rota drawn up in advance with every 2nd weekend off. Shifts are 8.00am-8.30pm and 9.30am-9.30pm. We ALSO have Part Time hours – 30 hours a week. About the Service: Viking House is an overnight 6 bedded short break residential service, suitable for children and young people up to the age of 18 years of age with physical and/or learning disabilities, to include complex health and behavioural care needs. You will lead a team of staff in supporting the children with their day-to-day personal needs. Working with your team and the children to assess individual needs to develop tailored care plans. You will help to maintain a safe and fun environment for both staff and children within the home and whilst out and about in the community. Abit about the role: Our Residential Support Worker guides a dedicated team through shifts with expertise and empathy. Their proactive approach to risk management, safeguards our young people’s wellbeing allowing us to deliver the highest quality of care. With a commitment to continuous improvement, they’ll ensure the wellbeing of our children and young people is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance, and advocacy. Once you have gained the relevant experience and qualifications, you’ll be ready to progress to the next step in your career with us. In this role you will also: Provide lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing and managing risk. Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi agency and producing family information, including analysis and written reports. Attendance at professional meetings including reviews, court work etc. Lead shifts with the primary aim of the provision of a high-quality service. Supervise and guide staff as required, in accordance with Action for Children policies and procedures. Lead by example with the application of Action for Children’s policy procedures and professional practice standards and in line with registration requirements Let's talk about you Experience of working in a care setting and developing positive relationships through trust. A range of techniques to co-ordinate and communicate with service users and their families. Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role. Ability to supervise less experienced staff. Demonstrate application of diversity policies within a residential setting. Ability to lead on care plans and reviews.
