Key Responsibilities Rent Collection & Income Maximisation: Engage with tenants to recover rent arrears and maximise income, working collaboratively with Housing Benefit Assessment Teams, Housing Area Teams, and Third Sector partners. Customer Engagement: Conduct home visits and office interviews to negotiate repayment plans and ensure appropriate recovery actions, including initiating legal proceedings when necessary. Financial Assessment: Apply relevant legislation and guidance to assess tenants’ financial circumstances, ensuring accurate decisions that benefit both tenants and Fife Council. Workload Management: Take a proactive approach to managing your caseload, maintaining high levels of accuracy and meeting required timescales. Ability to travel within Fife, successful candidates will be required to travel to their designated area, to liaise with colleagues and meet tenants both in their homes and local offices. The Ideal Candidate You should possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of individuals. A good working knowledge of DWP Benefits and Rent processes is desirable. Experience in working with the public is essential. Confidence in using IT applications and the ability to work with various software packages effectively. Educated to SCQF Level 6 (e.g., Highers, SVQ Level 3) or equivalent, ideally in a financial or customer service-related field.
