Job Title: Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)

REAL SUPPORT. REAL CHANGE.

You became a counsellor to help people heal and grow—not just cope week-to-week. At Sprout Family Health, we’ve built a model where counselling is part of a integrated, proactive system of care for young families.

We’re looking for a Registered Clinical Counsellor who wants to do meaningful, evidence-based work—while collaborating inside an integrated team that actually coordinates care.

HEALTHCARE WITH HEART

Sprout is more than a clinic. Our vision is a healthier world, where families thrive for generations.

We exist to enable young families to thrive with timely, proactive healthcare, delivered by an integrated team of nurturing professionals. We believe that accessing expert care shouldn't be complicated—it should be welcoming, wise, and forward-thinking.

Our Mission: To empower families to live longer, healthier, vibrant lives through integrated care and behaviour change.
Our Feel: We do it all with heart, warmth, and a bit of whimsy.
Our Promise: Healthcare the way it should be—uncomplicated and supported every step of the way.

THE “SPROUT” DIFFERENCE

We don’t bolt counselling onto a clinic and call it “integrated.” We build care around the real life of young families.

You Work With the Whole Family System
Your work supports parents, couples, and kids/youth—helping families navigate stress, transitions, identity shifts, emotional regulation, parenting strain, and relationship load.

You’re Part of a Coordinated Team
Members don’t have to figure out the system alone. With consent, counselling can be coordinated alongside the rest of their care, reducing repetition and improving follow-through.

Prevention-First, Not Crisis-First
We’re designed for longitudinal support, skill-building, and proactive mental health—not emergency response. Clear pathways exist when risk or higher-acuity care is needed.

HOW THIS ROLE WORKS INSIDE THE SPROUT MEMBERSHIP

Sprout is membership-based. Members pay monthly for proactive, relationship-based care that blends medical care and allied-health support.

In practice, that means:

  • Members can access counselling as part of their overall Sprout experience (within the membership structure and current service design).
  • Referrals come through multiple avenues: self-request, team recommendation, or proactive care planning.
  • Collaboration happens: when it improves care, you coordinate with your Sprout team via our internal EMR and during our clinical rounds meetings.
  • Clarity matters: you’ll help members understand what’s included in their membership versus any additional counselling services, so there are no surprises.

THE TEAM YOU’LL WORK WITH

You’ll collaborate with a warm, high-trust interdisciplinary team that may include:

  • Nurse Practitioners
  • Registered Nurses
  • Parenting Coaches
  • Physiotherapists
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Speech and Language Pathologists
  • Registered Dietitians

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Provide clinical intake/assessment and collaborative  goal-setting for individuals, couples, and families.
  • Deliver evidence-based counselling interventions (e.g., CBT, ACT, DBT-informed skills, trauma-informed care; couples/family modalities where trained).
  • Provide therapy for clinically significant concerns (e.g., postpartum mood/anxiety, depression/anxiety, trauma/grief, relationship distress, emotion regulation, burnout) while Parenting Coaching focuses on practical parenting tools (routines, behaviour strategies, co-regulation skills, and family systems habits).
  • Assess risk and acuity, and activate established escalation/referral pathways when needed.
  • Maintain high-quality clinical documentation and brief, clinically appropriate reports/summaries as required.
  • Participate in team consults/case discussions as scheduled.
  • Stay current with best practices, evidence, and ethical standards.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Master’s-level degree in counselling, psychology, social work, or related field.
  • Registered Clinical Counsellor in good standing with BCACC.
  • Evidence-based and outcomes-minded, while still deeply human.
  • Comfortable working with parents, couples, children/youth, and families (within your scope and competency).
  • Strong communicator, collaborative by nature, and solid with boundaries.
  • You value coordinated care, thoughtful documentation, and a high-trust team environment.
