Description

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Quality Manager to lead our quality assurance efforts in the aerospace manufacturing sector. This role is critical to ensuring our products meet stringent technical, regulatory, and customer requirements. The Quality Manager will architect and maintain our Quality Management System (QMS), oversee product compliance, and serve as the primary liaison with customer quality teams. 


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Design and maintain a robust QMS aligned with AS9100, FAA, and customer standards.
  • Lead quality audits and ensure compliance with regulatory and industry requirements.
  • Manage inspection and testing of incoming and outgoing products.
  • Serve as the company’s representative for customer quality issues and resolutions.
  • Analyze data and specifications to assess quality performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
  • Plan and deliver quality-related training across the organization.
  • Supervise and develop quality team members in accordance with company policies.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in complex projects, with 5+ years in aerospace quality.
  • Proven leadership experience and familiarity with AS9100 and FAA regulations.
  • ASQ certification preferred.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures for piece part, assembly and system level inspections, verifications, and validations.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and comply with OSHA standards.
  • Travel required up to 25%.
  • Works at telephone answering equipment, design equipment, and at a PC for hours at a time.
  • Must have visual acuity to inspect detailed parts per design data/drawings through close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustments.
  • Use your hands to feel/touch parts.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about the facility. The environmental characteristic of this position is a manufacturing setting where noise, heat, cold, moisture, fumes, and chemicals are present. Candidates should be able to adapt to a traditional business and warehouse environment.
