This role offers a hands-on opportunity for an experienced QA/QC Engineer to ensure the quality and integrity of electrical and mechanical systems in mission-critical construction projects. You will conduct inspections, tests, and examinations while collaborating with engineers, contractors, and site personnel to maintain high-quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to travel extensively to project sites across the U.S. You will be empowered to influence construction quality outcomes, communicate effectively across teams, and contribute to the successful delivery of cutting-edge facilities.

Accountabilities

  • Perform inspections, examinations, and testing of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing (MEP) systems during construction.
  • Read, interpret, and apply safety rules, equipment drawings, specifications, procedures, and manuals.
  • Document and report inspection results clearly and professionally, including oral presentations when required.
  • Coordinate daily activities with internal and external personnel to ensure adherence to schedules and QA/QC plans.
  • Review and execute QA/QC plans, procedures, and inspection reports, ensuring compliance with project standards.
  • Verify that measuring and testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
  • Setup and conduct inspections, examinations, and tests as per project requirements.
  • Maintain organization, accuracy, and timeliness of all QA/QC documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with at least 2 months of relevant inspection/testing experience; or
  • Associate Degree in a related field plus 1 month of inspection/testing experience.
  • Experience in construction, mission-critical projects, or MEP systems preferred.
  • Visual acuity meeting near and far standards (Snellen 20/30), and ability to distinguish colors and contrast.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Smartsheet or Ajera is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Ability to calculate figures, percentages, and proportions accurately.
  • Leadership abilities and familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and business principles.
  • Ability to work effectively from a home office and travel 50–75% annually to project sites.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks including standing for long periods, lifting up to 30 lbs, and navigating rugged or adverse conditions.
  • Military experience is a plus.
