Production Planner

Job Description:  Cosworth are seeking a Production Planner to join our team, responsible for managing our manufacturing requirements through effective scheduling and coordination of material supply. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring production plans align with customer demand, inventory targets, and resource availability. The Role:  * Develop, issue, and maintain weekly and monthly production schedules to meet demand and inventory targets. * Maintain accurate production data in SAP. * Propose recovery plans in response to changes in demand, material availability or equipment breakdowns. * Balance workload across resources and shifts to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime. * Collaborate with our Purchasing department and warehouse teams to ensure timely availability of BOM items. * Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to share requirement deadlines and forecast. * Manage supply of raw material and subcontract services. * Create purchase and production orders. * Maintain strong relationship with stakeholders (internal departments, suppliers and subcontractors) * Maintain long term resource utilization forecast based on multi-year production plan and NPI forecast. * Participate in daily production planning reviews. * Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities. * Support the Company’s compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 by following company policy and best practice. Candidate Profile:  * Understanding of manufacturing processes and capacity planning. * Experience of using ERP systems in a planning role (preferably SAP S/4 Hanna). * Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. * Clear communication and interpersonal skills across departments. * Excellent organizational and time management skills. * Exceptional attention to detail. * Motivated to progress into a managerial role.
