Summary of the role:
The EXLerate.ai Platform Product Owner is responsible for driving the execution of the product vision for an enterprise-grade AI Platform that enables agentic AI development and hosting. This role bridges business objectives and engineering execution, ensuring the development team has clear priorities, well-defined user stories, and a continuously refined backlog aligned to strategic goals.
The Product Owner engages with EXL platform architects, data scientists, solution and sales teams, and partners to develop requirements and deliver platform features that support scalability, governance, observability, and developer experience across the AI ecosystem.
The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of cloud solution architectures, data science methodologies and platform delivery at scale. Familiarity with NVIDIA products and solutions are not required but considered nice-to-have for this position.
As part of your duties, you will be responsible for:
- Own and manage the product backlog for the AI Platform, ensuring it reflects the strategic roadmap and technical priorities.
- Define and refine user stories, acceptance criteria, and success metrics to ensure clarity and alignment for the development team.
- Partner with engineering leads to translate complex AI platform capabilities—such as model orchestration, agent frameworks, and deployment pipelines—into actionable development tasks
- Collaborate with stakeholders (AI researchers, data scientists, DevOps, and security teams) to gather requirements, prioritize needs, and manage dependencies.
- Facilitate sprint planning, backlog grooming, and review sessions, ensuring continuous delivery of value.
- Monitor progress against milestones and KPIs, proactively identifying risks and trade-offs.
- Ensure features support the overall vision for agentic AI capabilities, including automation, reasoning, memory management, and multi-agent collaboration.
- Support product documentation, release notes, and internal training materials to ensure successful adoption.
Qualifications and experience we consider to be essential for the role:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Business Administration (MBA).
- Experience in AI infrastructure, agentic AI systems, MLOps, or AI platform engineering.
- Familiarity with modern AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, ADK, CrewAI , or similar agent frameworks).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Understanding of data governance, model observability, and AI ethics/compliance principles.
- Track record of shipping platform-level capabilities for internal developer or data science audiences.
- Experience with APIs, SDKs, and developer ecosystem enablement.
- Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients.
- Experience in a customer-facing, sales aligned role, presenting to small and large audiences
Certifications Desired*: (one or more certifications preferred)
Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP) are a plus.
Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO).
Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP).
AI/ML certifications, such as:
- AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty
Azure AI Engineer Associate
Google Cloud Professional Machine Learning Engineer
Skills and Personal attributes we would like to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in product ownership or product management, ideally in platform or enterprise software environments.
- Strong understanding of Agentic AI, including LLMs, prompt management, agent deployment, and observability.
- Experience managing agile software development processes using frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Proven ability to create clear, actionable user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and prioritization skills.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional technical teams.
