Product Intern - Ergonomic design of a patient bed for breast MRI

We’re looking for a highly motivated Intern to join our product team and support both the Product manager and our mechanical team. This internship is ideal for a final-year student from an engineering school student looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced startup environment. Duration: 6 months From: January 2025 (Flexible) Skills & Experience Final year student in industrial design, textile engineering (especially with a medical focus such as biomaterials or medical devices), biomedical engineering or ergonomy. (Master’s level) Strong interest in medical interface design and user-centered innovation. Curious, autonomous, rigorous, analytical mindset, and sensitive to patient experience. 3D modeling Rapid prototyping (3D printing, cutting, foam shaping, textiles, sewing, etc.) Knowledge in ergonomics and patient comfort Good communication and teamwork skills, with ability to collaborate with multiple teams (clinicians, engineers, RA/QA, designers) Awareness of medical device regulations (EU MDR 2017/745, ISO 10993, etc.) Key Responsibilities During this internship you will be in charge of developing a prototype for a MRI patient bed.The internship will be separated in three phase as bellow: Your main responsibilities will include: Analyze clinical needs and translate them into design requirements (comfort, usability, MRI compatibility, cleaning, durability). Conduct ergonomic studies and explore innovative design concepts. Select suitable materials and manufacturing processes. Create detailed 3D models and iterate on design solutions. Build and test prototypes, organize usability evaluations, and analyze results. Deliver a functional prototype and a techpack ready for industrialization.
