As a Qualcomm Systems Engineer, you will research, design, develop, simulate, and/or validate systems-level software, hardware, architecture, algorithms, and solutions that enables the development of cutting-edge technology. Qualcomm Systems Engineers collaborate across functional teams to meet and exceed system-level requirements and standards. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field. Familiarity with Wi-Fi physical layer standards 15+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience. 4+ years of experience developing Wi-Fi related products 4+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization. 4+ years of supervisory experience. 3+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with executive leadership (e.g., Sr. Director level and above). Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Leverages advanced Systems knowledge and experience to research, design, develop, simulate, and/or validate highly critical physical layer hardware, architecture, algorithms, and solutions while ensuring system-level requirements and standards are met. Develops high performance, low power modems ​Serves as a technical expert for performing highly complex functional analyses that drive requirements and specifications and define and align with standards for hardware and software. ​Provides expertise for the analysis and development of system level design including requirements, interface definition, functional/performance definition, and implementation of a new system or modification of an existing system. ​​Collaborates with high-level representatives from other functions (e.g., testing group, product group, customers) to develop and execute system design. Develops new and innovative ideas (e.g. IDFs) for products or features, reviews IDFs, and drives innovation for own organization. Serves as a technical expert and resource for triaging highly complex problems at the system level to determine root causes; presents results of testing and debugging to internal and external stakeholders. Level of Responsibility: Decision-making is critical in nature and impacts program, product, or project success. Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey highly complex and/or detailed information. May require strong negotiation and influence with large groups or high-level constituents. Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to make key decisions). Tasks often require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; extensive planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
