Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Business development, including securing new clients, fostering long-term client relationships, leading proposal preparation, and developing and executing a strategic business development plan.
  • Leading meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other stakeholders to drive project success.
  • Establishing, supporting and developing a new office in the Calgary area.
  • Project management, including planning and executing projects, managing budgets and schedules, ensuring quality and client satisfaction, and driving profitability.
  • Mentoring and leadership of senior, mid-career, and junior staff, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional growth.
  • Managing work to meet contract schedules, regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and high standards of care.
  • Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals that reflect innovation and technical excellence.
  • Occasional fieldwork as required by the Company.

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or environmental engineering, or a related field of study (required)
  • Advanced degree in a related field of study (desirable but not essential)
  • Professional registration e.g. P.Eng (required)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 10 years (15+ preferred) of relevant consulting or client-side experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Strong expertise in water process engineering for the industrial sector (required)
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Demonstrated success in client development and management. (required)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment, managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and traveling to client sites as needed. (required)
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
