Position #: 9000918 Expected Start Date: December 1, 2025 Union: HSAS Facility: Swift Current Community Services City/Town: Swift Current Department: Primary Care Sites Type: Full-time regular FTE: 1 Shift Information: Days Hours of Work: 14 shifts of 8 hours per 3 weeks Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: No Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Physician Assistant Degree $51.102 to $62.5 Job Description: Physician Assistants (PAs) are academically and clinically educated medical generalists who practice medicine within a formalized relationship with a physician. Regulated by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS), PAs collect and interpret medical information, make appropriate clinical decisions and carry out diagnostic and therapeutic interventions within a formalized Physician/PA relationship agreement approved by the CPSS. Travel Required: No Human Resources Exemption: No Experience Clinical experience working as a PA in a related clinical field, is an asset Education Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant educational degree program recognized by the Physician Assistant Certification Council of Canada (PACCC) Holds one of the following certifications: Canadian Certified Physician Assistant (CCPA) through PACCC or the Physician Assistant - Certified (PA-C) through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). (May be asked to provide proof of meeting maintenance of certification requirements). Licenses Membership and Licensure in good standing with the CPSS as a Physician Assistant (Eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS) for applicants outside of Saskatchewan) Membership with the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants Competencies Advanced - Interpersonal skills Intermediate - Mobilizes people, inspires and leads by example Advanced - Communication skills Advanced - Analytical skills Intermediate - Computer skills Advanced - Technical skills Knowledge and Abilities Exemplifies ethical practices, professionalism and personal integrity Ability to treat patients with compassion and empathy Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team Provide culturally competent, client & family centered & strength based care Articulates theory and knowledge related to patient and family centered care committed to quality, safety and striving towards zero harm Demonstrated written and spoken competence in English language Other Information Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (PALS) an asset Advanced Cardiac Life Support certificate (ACLS) an asset Current ATLS Certification (Advanced Trauma Life Support), is an asset Standby may be required Valid Class 5 driver's license Preference to HSAS members as per the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement May provide services to acute and long term care sites as required
