About the role Working under the direction of the Payroll & Benefits Manager, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for accurate, timely and confidential preparation and processing of payroll for the entities under the company’s management. Responsibilities · Process high-volume biweekly & semi-monthly payroll, using Work Force Now (WFN) and Work Force Manager for BC, QB & AB · Verify payroll for each pay period to ensure transactions have been processed accurately · Ensure processing of appropriate deductions, remittances, and reporting requirements · Ensuring legislation, collective agreements, and company policies are met · Prepare payroll reports and special manual payments · Issue ROE’s, when required · Review and reconcile monthly benefits · Prepare payroll related remittances for union, WCB, CRA, pension, etc. · Respond to payroll-related enquiries as required and provide support to the sites in processing payroll · Other duties as assigned Qualifications and Skills: · Sound knowledge of payroll employment standards and regulations · Proficiency in ADP WFN (Work Force Now) and Work Force Manager preferred · Proficient in MS Office, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills · Strong organizational, problem solving, decision making, multitasking and communication skills · Ability to exercise a high level of professionalism and discretion with confidential information · Highly developed time management skills · Benefits administration experience preferred · High-volume payroll experience in a unionized environment is an asset BENEFITS OFFERED: Annual Bonus, Pension, Extended Health Benefits West Coast Seniors Housing Management is an equal opportunity employer.
