The North West Regional Organised Crime Unit is a collaborative multi agency covert response to tackle serious and organised crime across the North West Region. Data is now at the heart of all our investigations, the volume and complexity of this data is rapidly changing, and we need to keep pace with the advancements in technology within the world around us. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new team at the forefront of digital data exploitation. We are seeking proactive, inquisitive and committed individuals to join our new Data Exploitation Team. The Data Exploitation Practitioner will work alongside Intercept Case Officers to analyse sensitive intelligence data to identify and extract information of intelligence value. You will provide direct support to operations by utilising your experience, skills and knowledge to gather, develop, and analyse intelligence. In addition to supporting operations, you will also be responsible for more strategic work such as inputting into future capability requirements, developing tradecraft and knowledge to share with the team, wider community, and our partners. The NWROCU leads the policing response across the region posed by serious and organised crime in Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and North Wales. The NWROCU provides the vital link from national capabilities and expertise to local policing and knowledge, enabling the North West region to deliver the Government’s serious and organised Crime strategy and to protect communities from harm. The secondment period will be reviewable and subject to performance and continued national funding. Further developments in NWROCU’s capabilities are anticipated in the future. Applications received for Operational roles that require mandatory Officer Safety/First Aid training must hold valid in date training or able to undertake upon application. The Grade of this role has been determined using the Merseyside HAY procedure and has been afforded a Merseyside Grade F. This equates to a salary range of £40,383 - £47,046. Successful applicants from other Regional Forces will be paid a salary within this pay range. These are full time roles working ‘flexitime’ however, applicants must be aware that there is a requirement for the post holders to be flexible in relation to working hours. Full details of the role requirements are provided in the JDQ. Post Holder must be prepared to be Management Vetted, DV security cleared (DV Enhanced). Successful appointment and secondment into the role is dependent on passing the NCA Enhanced Vetting in addition to SC and MV clearance required for all roles in the NWROCU. In cases where the commute to work is in excess of applicant’s current commute the excess travel will be paid.
