Position #: 167410 Expected Start Date: April 29, 2025 Union: SUN Facility: Public Health Office - Saskatoon City/Town: Saskatoon Department: Health Bus Type: Part-time regular FTE: 0.5 Shift Information: Days, Evenings, Weekends Hours of Work: shifts of hours per 6 weeks Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: Yes Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Nurse Practitioner $52.590 to $62.910 Travel Required: Yes Job Description: Reporting to the Manager of Primary Health, the Nurse Practitioner will: provides clinical support related to high risk behaviours of population; provides chronic disease management and treatment of common medical problems for people who have significant barriers to accessing health care; supports referrals to other health services as needed. Work reflects understanding of determinants of health that influence health in the core neighborhoods. Works with Health Care, Community and Intersectoral partners such as Public Health and EMS department of Social Work to improve the health of citizens in Saskatoon core neighborhoods. Has an increased understanding and sensitivity to aboriginal culture and effects on health care delivery. Demonstrates capacity to engage people in health enhancing education, activities and services. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience Three (3) years full-time experience as a Registered Nurse Two (2) years advanced RN (NP) in applicable area Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Licenses Valid Class 5 driver's license Other Education and Training Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) Nursing diploma is acceptable Competencies Basic - Facilitation skills Basic - Communication skills to provide/obtain verbal and/or written opinions/advice Basic - Conflict resolution skills Basic - Critical thinking skills Basic - Decision making skills Basic - Leadership skills Basic - Organizational skills Basic - Teaching skills Knowledge and Abilities Ability to take initiative Demonstrates leadership, confidence and autonomy in the RN(NP) role Knowledge of addictions interventions involving drugs, alcohol or tobacco Commitment to continued learning and professional development.
