Position #: 196001 Expected Start Date: May 11, 2025 Union: SUN Facility: St. Pauls Hospital City/Town: Saskatoon Department: Organ Donation Type: Part-time temporary Expected Up to Date: March 29, 2026 FTE: 0.5 Shift Information: Days, Nights, Evenings, Weekends, Standby Hours of Work: 14 shifts of 8 hours per 6 weeks Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: No Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Nurse B $42.040 to $52.440 Travel Required: No Job Description: The Clinical Practitioner who integrates experience, skills and knowledge from nursing theory and principles of adult learning and thrives to make a difference. Our mandate includes increasing public awareness of the importance of organ and tissue donation, education of health care professionals, and ensuring a safe and effective donation and transplant system in Saskatchewan. The Deceased Donor Coordinator guides each step of the donation process including donor identification through referral indicators, donor suitability assessment, declaration, approach and consent with families, to the medical donor management optimizing organ and tissue yield for recipient transplantation. After each donation there is family follow-up and support and information transfer with donation and recipient programs. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience 5 years acute care nursing experience 1 year clinical experience in organ/tisssue donation/transplantation Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Other Education and Training Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) Nursing diploma is acceptable Competencies Basic - Organizational skills Basic - Interpersonal skills Basic - Communication skills to provide/obtain verbal and/or written opinions/advice Knowledge and Abilities Able to handle complex issues concurrently while maintaining attention to detail Ability to work independently Ability to recognize and maintain confidential information Other Information Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) Travel required For more information on the city of Saskatoon please visit https://www.saskatoon.ca/
