London Borough of Croydon Not afraid of a challenge? We need committed knowledgeable social workers to help us with our core business – empowering and supporting people who need signposting, community support, or even some direct help from the Council. We have a strong operating model in Community Led Support (CLS) recognizing both individual strengths and the support they can receive from their community We have an established and stable base of Team Managers to work with you and support you, our vacancy rates are low - and we rarely use agency staff, preferring to concentrate our efforts on growing our own and looking after our permanent staff. This includes having a dedicated Training officer supporting adult social care, and Principal Social Worker to support staff welfare and practice. Newly Qualified Social Worker Applicants at NQSW level should have qualified in the last 2 years and not completed an Assessed and Supported Year in Employment previously. We offer scope to our staff team to progress their career, develop their individual professional practice, analytical and creative skills, and a department wide commitment to realistic caseloads (capped for NQSW’s at a minimum of 10% lower than the rest of your team, but even lower than that for much of the year). Croydon Adult Services operate a case load limit structure, designed to maintain viable workload and support output of work. This is supported by a Council wide programme of excellent learning, development and career progression opportunities, epitomised by our strong ASYE programme, recognized in our recent ‘Good’ CQC report and commitment to post qualification training. Please note all applications should have been completed by the applicant, not a 3rd party or AI. Assistance from software because of a reasonable adjustment due to learning need/disability is acceptable – you may tell us you have done this if you wish. We regret we do not offer sponsorship for International applicants.
