This role offers the opportunity to manage, design, and optimize complex network systems in a dynamic federal IT environment. The Senior Network Engineer will provide technical guidance, troubleshoot advanced network performance issues, and ensure secure and scalable connectivity across LAN, MAN, and WAN systems. This position involves project-level planning, vendor coordination, and system-level design, supporting mission-critical operations. It requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to maintain compliance, implement improvements, and monitor network performance. The role is physically and mentally engaging, offering hands-on work, problem-solving, and occasional lifting, with a low-travel schedule in a structured day-shift environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled engineer to make a direct impact on infrastructure reliability and efficiency.

Accountabilities:

  • Provide technical guidance for monitoring and managing information systems and network operations.
  • Design, implement, and maintain LAN, MAN, and WAN systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, including performance degradation and outages.
  • Conduct capacity planning and network traffic analysis to optimize infrastructure.
  • Manage procurement, installation, and configuration of network communications systems.
  • Oversee system-level design, including hardware, operating systems, and platform specifications.
  • Lead large-scale projects, vendor comparisons, and cost analyses.
  • Perform quality assurance on new and existing software products and network systems.
  • Support policy-level discussions, supervising complex operations involving multiple IT functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, IT, Engineering, or Mathematics.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in network engineering or related IT roles.
  • Proficiency in network architecture, system integration, and configuration management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including capacity planning and performance monitoring.
  • Experience managing LAN/MAN/WAN infrastructure and vendor relationships.
  • Ability to supervise operations, evaluate new technologies, and implement network improvements.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility for TS/SCI clearance.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform hands-on tasks as required.
