This role combines strategic oversight, operational leadership, and technical expertise to ensure the utility’s infrastructure aligns with evolving industry demands, including decarbonization, electrification, and grid modernization goals. The incumbent will lead the forward-thinking Grid Modernization team and activities, ensuring system resilience, operational excellence, and customer-focused delivery. KEY DUTIES * Lead grid modernization strategy and DER integration. * Oversee asset management, system planning, and system resilience. * Oversee SCADA, OMS, and other engineering tools. * Lead system reliability initiatives including outage analysis, predictive maintenance, and performance benchmarking, ensuring compliance with OEB standards and enhancing grid resilience through innovative technologies. * Validate outage records and ensure regulatory compliance. * Coordinate with IESO, Hydro One, and large customers for capacity planning. * Develop engineering standards and monitor KPIs. * Supervise engineering staff and ensure safety across operations. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE * Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering; P.Eng. preferred. * 5+ years in distribution system planning and team leadership. * Knowledge of protection & control and grid modernization * Strong project management and financial oversight capabilities. * Experience with CYME/DESS/SCADA an asset. * Knowledge of Ontario Regulation 22/04 an asset.
