Maintenance Technician - Welder

Job Summary

The General Maintenance Technician assists in building maintenance of electrical, plumbing, carpentry and grounds. This includes general maintenance, upkeep, repairs and improvement of the building.

Essential Functions and Basic Job Duties:

• Ability to accurately read a tape measure
• Cut material and be able to understand concepts of angles
• Implement preventative maintenance measures
• Maintain inventory and supplies
• Must be able to weld in different areas
• Respond as soon as possible in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol
• Perform other maintenance duties as requested
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Education: High School Graduate or equivalent preferred
• Certification: Requires a valid driver's license
• Training: Minimum one month on the job training required
• Experience:  Job-related experience within specialized field with increasing levels of responsibility is required

Job Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Ability to give special attention to detail
• Must have ability to recognize letters and numbers
• Must have strong verbal communication skills
• Must be able to lift 75 pounds
