This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Lead Site Reliability Engineer in the United States.
In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of highly reliable, scalable, and secure platform infrastructure. You will oversee complex SRE initiatives, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and observability of critical systems. This role requires a hands-on approach to troubleshooting, automating operational tasks, and implementing best practices across cloud and on-premises environments. You will mentor and guide teams while collaborating with cross-functional engineering groups to drive service reliability and efficiency. The position offers a dynamic environment to influence infrastructure strategy, deploy innovative solutions, and ensure uninterrupted service for millions of users.
Accountabilities:
- Lead end-to-end SRE projects focused on platform reliability, monitoring, alerting, and continuous improvement.
- Design, deploy, and maintain observability frameworks and CI/CD pipelines to ensure high system availability and performance.
- Troubleshoot and analyze service disruptions, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
- Lead post-incident reviews, document findings, and drive process improvements for enhanced system reliability.
- Mentor engineering teams, coach on best practices, and develop KPIs to measure service performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new tools, technologies, and processes that optimize infrastructure and software delivery.
- Ensure compliance with policies and standards while contributing to a culture of operational excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5–7+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, infrastructure, or related technical roles.
- Hands-on experience with Linux, Unix, or Windows operating systems.
- Proficiency with observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, New Relic, Prometheus, or Grafana.
- Experience with enterprise CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, CloudBees, or OpenShift.
- Familiarity with public cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
- Strong database and programming knowledge (MongoDB, MySQL, Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL).
- Skilled in version control and deployment tools such as GitLab, Bitbucket, or Subversion.
- Experience with IT service management platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Atlassian, BMC).
- Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to make recommendations to management and guide multiple projects to completion.
