The Role:
Uisce Éireann IT (UÉ IT) provides IT services and support to the wider Uisce Éireann business.
IT Operations is responsible for all operational run activities across Applications, Service Management and Infrastructure. The Applications teams are responsible for implementing, upgrading and supporting all Uisce Éireann applications (CC&B, Maximo, Mobile Apps, Middleware, Oracle Financials, GIS, HR specific, SharePoint and Service Now etc.). including those built on the Dynamics 365 platform such as CDS, EIMS and SIMS. The Applications teams also have a pivotal role to play in the implementation of new applications for the organisation, working with the IT Build & Delivery area.
Reporting to the Asset Planning Team Lead, the Asset Planning Functional Analyst is responsible for the Analysis, Development, Modification and Maintenance of Asset Planning systems. These systems include Program Risk Management, Project Scheduling, Workflow, Asset Investment Prioritization and all the associated integrations between these systems and Financial, Data Warehousing and Asset Management systems.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively support IT operational activities to ensure smooth and efficient running of the Asset Planning applications.
- Build and maintain expertise in all the business process and functional requirements supported by all the applications within the scope of this role.
- Contribute to design, architecture, build and testing of new systems for both business as usual and project initiatives. Work collaboratively with business stakeholders to improve and streamline processes.
- Secondment to IT project teams as necessary and collaborative engagement with the Business Partnering, Design & Strategy, Build & Delivery and Business Change teams.
- Participate in interactions and effective working relationships with external vendors, contractors and IT Managed Service providers
- Engage in software version management and currency and patching of applications within the scope of the role
- Contribute to in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning and testing for applications within the scope of the role.
- Create and update documentation including process maps, functional requirements and recovery run books;
- Actively support the resolution of Incidents and Problems impacting business operations supported by all applications in the role scope and align with internal ITL standards
- Keep abreast of industry trends and undertake technical training to maintain skills currency
- Provide out-of-hours cover as part of the Standby Rota as required and manage this across the team.
- Communicate effectively within the team and across other teams as required
- Other duties as required from time to time.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business, including but not limited to;
Wider IT Teams, notably Service Management and Build & Delivery teams
End-users of the relevant applications
Project Teams across the business - Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
- Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
- Conducts duties and responsibilities in accordance with Uisce Éireann’s Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information, and delivery of critical services, in accordance with the NIS Directive and any other relevant cybersecurity regulation.
- Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- 3+ years of functional and technical experience in at least one of the following or equivalent systems is desirable: Oracle OPC, Oracle P6, Oracle Unifier, Copper Leaf.
- Utility Asset Investment, Utility Asset Planning, Asset Investment Prioritisation experience an advantage.
- Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable and or relevant experience.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders internally and externally.
- Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion along with the ability to communicate information to others.
- Highly motivated individual, working to the highest professional standards and with proven ability to deliver results within a team.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements, and propose and implement solutions.
- Demonstrate adaptability and the ability to change focus and direction in line with business strategy and requirements.
- Proactively identifying new areas of improvement and using newly gained knowledge and skill on the job.
- Previous experience in applications support of large systems, preferably in the Utilities sector.
