Job Title: Humanitarian Advocacy Specialist (Maternity Cover) Team: Child Rights, Advocacy and Campaign Reports To: Head, Humanitarian Advocacy Contract Length: Fixed Term Contract (12 months) Grade: P3 Location: Any approved Save the Children International office location (multiple time zones and locations required across team) Time Zone (that the role holder must be available to work in): Any Right to Work: The successful candidate must possess the unrestricted right to work in their current or preferred location for the duration of employment. Language Requirements: English (additional language of French, Spanish or Arabic preferred) International Travel Requirements: up to 20% Team and Job Purpose To drive local to global influencing efforts by establishing a cohesive and relevant advocacy, campaign, child rights governance and child participation agenda aligned with our global strategy, thereby driving impact at scale. By leveraging evidence and analysis, and promoting a culture of learning, we ensure a child rights approach is embedded in all our initiatives, while partnering with country offices to prepare, scale-up, and execute effective operational humanitarian advocacy efforts. Our team co-owns the delivery of advocacy, campaigning, and mobilization strategies and leads child participation approaches across all programs to empower children and amplify their voices in decision-making processes. Role purpose To support the Director of Child Rights Advocacy and Campaign and Head of Humanitarian Advocacy in establishing and monitoring humanitarian advocacy sub team workplan focused on categorised and prioritised responses, ensuring alignment with organisational Global Strategy and PAC 3 year plan. This role will drive effective drafting of key humanitarian advocacy materials including, planning around key humanitarian advocacy initiatives, as well as supporting country office wide evaluation, and learning with a focus on humanitarian categorised and prioritised responses. The role holder will also help to develop and promote humanitarian advocacy best practices and stakeholder engagement Principal Accountabilities Support the Director of Child Rights Advocacy and Campaign and Head of Humanitarian Advocacy in establishing and monitoring humanitarian Advocacy sub team workplan, ensuring alignment with organisational Global Strategy and PAC 3 year plan. Support the planning, implementation and communication around key humanitarian advocacy work across prioritised humanitarian crisis Support the development of key advocacy material, messages and analysis to drive impact at scale. Support the establishment of monitoring, evaluation, learning and promotion of our humanitarian advocacy work to ensure learning , best practices and engagement with internal and external stakeholders. Support planning and dissemination of ongoing humanitarian advocacy initiatives, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure the projects align with strategic humanitarian advocacy priorities. Experience and Skills Essential 1. Planning and Monitoring of Strategic Initiatives: Significant experience in supporting the development and implementation of cross-departmental strategic plans and initiatives in teams with diverse tasks and functions. Experience in driving continuous improvement & learning initiatives and sharing of best practices. 2. Project Management: Proficient experience in managing multiple projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Uses innovative solutions for planning, monitoring, and communications across joint team projects. 3. Humanitarian Advocacy and Analysis: Experience in conducting analysis and drafting materials including key messages, guidance, analysis with a focus on humanitarian Advocacy work. 4. Collaboration & Team Building: Builds and maintains effective relationships with team members, colleagues, members, and external partners and supporters. Promotes an inclusive team environment, valuing diversity and fostering cultural competency. 5. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Considerable experience in developing and executing engagement strategies, including engaging with internal and external stakeholders to promote the uptake of departmental outputs. Experience in planning and disseminating research and analysis findings to different audiences, including decision makers, practitioners, and the general public.
