We’re looking for an Internal Communications Manager who will help shape and tell the stories that inspire our people, celebrate our successes, and connect teams to our purpose and long-term plans. In a nutshell You’ll play a lead role in creating and delivering compelling, people-first communications that help our colleagues understand our strategy, performance, and the part they play in our future. Partnering closely with senior leaders, you’ll develop clear, engaging narratives and build proactive, insight-led engagement plans that help embed key moments like our CEO’s leadership agenda, our People Strategy and our journey towards becoming the most loved travel company. Working with creative teams, digital channels and specialist partners, you’ll lead the storytelling that builds belonging, advocacy and pride - all while staying true to Virgin Atlantic’s tone of voice and values. Day to day As a Communications Manager, you will: Lead storytelling and engagement planning Build a deep understanding of companywide and directorate plans, translating complex business updates into compelling, inspiring narratives. Develop and deliver directorate-level engagement plans aligned to the wider People Communications strategy. Shape and manage an annual editorial and content calendar with a proactive, audience-led approach. Generate stories that celebrate our people, showcase progress against our plan, and embed our culture. Create high-impact content across multiple channels Produce engaging written, visual and AV-led content for channels including Viva Engage, Viva Connections and leadership events. Partner with creative, digital and production teams to bring ideas to life across formats. Support senior leaders with content that strengthens strategic clarity and improves leadership cascade. Drive insight-led communications Track performance using engagement, reach and channel analytics. Use insights to continually improve impact, optimise messaging cadence, and avoid fatigue. Provide regular reporting and recommendations to leadership and the Communications team. Support crisis and key business moments Assist with timely, accurate and empathetic communications during issues or crises. Support Industrial Relations communications planning and delivery when needed. Contribute to our People Engagement Strategy Play a key role in defining and delivering the long-term People Communications plan. Help set team targets and take part in regular reviews and re-sets. About you You’re a skilled internal communicator with a strategic mindset and a natural eye for storytelling. You know how to bring clarity to complex topics and create content that inspires. You thrive in a fast-paced, people-centred environment and enjoy partnering with leaders to drive engagement, culture and connection. You’ll bring: Significant experience in internal, employee or corporate communications within customer-centric, fast-paced organisations. Outstanding copywriting skills and a confident, nuanced communication style. A strong ability to translate business strategy, performance and change into impactful narratives. Proven stakeholder management, including partnering with senior leaders and C-suite. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to deliver at pace and to tight deadlines. A creative approach to content, with experience producing written, visual and AV materials. It would be great if you also have: Experience with digital engagement platforms (e.g. Viva Engage). Skills in filming, editing or basic design. Experience working with creative agencies or production partners.
