Job Title: Infrastructure Engineer Location: Milton Keynes, Hybrid (2 days a week in the office) Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 Contract Type: Permanent, 37.5 hpw Interviews expected to take place in the New Year. If you thrive in a fast-moving environment, are passionate about delivering resilient technology, and enjoy solving complex problems, this could be the perfect role for you.     About the Role As our Infrastructure Engineer, you will configure, maintain and monitor the performance of our technology infrastructure across the Group, ensuring our hardware, software and networks operate at peak performance. You’ll be hands-on with system design, troubleshooting for our on-premise and cloud infrastructure, taking the technical lead on upgrades and new initiatives. You’ll also work closely with the Technology Support Team to deliver a high-quality service to users across the business. This role also includes responsibility for ensuring out-of-hours coverage to minimise service disruption and safeguard security.     What You’ll Be Doing * Designing and implementing robust IT system architectures, and selecting the right technologies for scalability and performance. * Leading infrastructure projects including upgrades, migrations and new technology implementations. * Managing and configuring the business network (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs). * Installing, maintaining and optimising servers and end-user devices (physical and virtual). * Overseeing cloud infrastructure provisioning and management. * Ensuring strong security controls, including firewalls, IDS, encryption, vulnerability assessments and penetration testing management. * Monitoring system performance and proactively solving problems to minimise downtime. * Ensuring reliable backup solutions are implemented, including running and reporting on DR tests. * Developing IT documentation and contributing to technology strategy. * Continuously reviewing processes and recommending improvements. * Ensuring systems and processes comply with FCA principles, Consumer Duty, TCF and relevant legislation.     What You’ll Bring Essential Technical Skills * Proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer supporting production systems. * Strong system design and architecture capabilities. * Expertise in network management (routers, firewalls, switches, VPNs). * Hands-on experience with client/server environments — installation, configuration, maintenance and patching. * Experience with backup, DR planning and execution. * Cloud infrastructure management skills (e.g., provisioning, monitoring, securing cloud resources). * Strong understanding of security best practice in regulated environments. * Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting ability across hardware, software and networking. * Strong relationship builder with credibility and trust. * Strategic and creative problem solver. * Able to perform under pressure and adapt to changing priorities. * Able to balance day-to-day delivery with long-term strategic thinking. * Genuine customer focus with a desire to exceed expectations.
