How you'll make a difference As an HR Advisor, you will use your knowledge and expertise to provide quality generalist HR advice, support and guidance. Working within the HR Casework and Change team, you will enable the council to perform people management effectively through the provision of consistent and practical support. What you will be doing Working collaboratively with senior HR Advisors, you will provide support and advice to all levels of staff and managers, predominately around sickness absence, occupational health referrals, probation and performance management, and supporting discipline and grievance cases. You will manage a caseload, meeting timely case resolution and risk mitigation for the organisation, whilst ensuring compliance with policy and legislation. Daily, you will monitor and manage the shared HR inbox, responding to enquiries or signposting and setting up cases for allocation. You will provide employee information for workforce change projects and produce communications to affected staff and support senior advisors for larger projects. It will be your responsibility to provide team metrics data and quarterly statistics and also provide effective administration of casework documents. What we need from you We require you to have generalist HR experience which includes sickness absence, probation and performance management case work practice and workforce change. You must have a working knowledge of employment policies, procedures and the legislative framework. Ideally you will hold or be working towards a level 3 Human Resources qualification such as the CIPD Foundation Certificate in People Practice and have a willingness to develop your knowledge and experience, Due to the nature of the role, you must have the ability to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels and have good team working and relationship building skills. What you need to know This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at our office in Yate and working from home. We are recruitng into 2 posts: 1 x Permanent and 1 x Limited Term Contract until June 2026 Interviews will be held on the 10th December 2025.
