The main task is to manage and co-ordinate repairs and maintenance in mixed tenure blocks for the communal areas including consulting with private property owners on the works required. The candidate should have a knowledge of housing and legislation around factoring and shared repairs. Will work with partner services to raise accurate works orders to maximise first time fix and minimise the need for orders to be varied. Respond quickly to emergency and urgent maintenance queries to safeguard customers and the property. Work in collaboration with other colleagues and teams to successfully manage and resolve repairs-based issues. Will be responsible for ensuring high quality private sector housing services through the implementation of legislative standards, Council policies, processes, and self-developed solutions. As Housing Management Officer, you will be required to deliver high quality customer care and advice, supporting private owners, landlords, tenants, and other stakeholders. Will be working within local communities to provide customers and partners with information, advice, guidance, and support in relation to private housing issues around mutual repairs and factoring. Part of this role will involve lone working when carrying out site visits. Training & lone working devices will be provided. A link to the role profile is included at the bottom of the advert. The Person Educated to SCQF level 5 which includes National 5 or SVQ level 2 in Housing or equivalent or Standard Grades at Credit level or equivalent Ability to deliver housing services through field-based working Fife wide. Experience of assessing building repairs and confidently discuss findings with customers Knowledge of housing policy and practices relevant to mutual repairs and factoring Experience of partnership working in Council / private sector housing The ability to deliver quality customer service and work well under pressure. Use negotiation skills, where required, to reach a mutually beneficial resolution Customer care skills and experience of assertive case management Able to provide a regular and effective service. Be well organised to manage competing demands Ability to work confidently on your own as well as contributing and assisting the wider team as work demands arise Be familiar with Microsoft systems, Office 365, word & excel Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
