The Link (Non-school Alternative Provision) Address: Priory Road, Eye IP21 5PH Salary: £14.29 - £15.76 per hour Hours: up to 31.75 hours per week Contract: Fixed Term until 31 August 2026, Required from January 2026 Reference: 8247 The Link are looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to complement the professional work of the Lead Teacher by taking responsibility for the implementation and design of specific support or specialist activities. The Link is a bespoke non-school Alternative Provision led by an experienced teacher and specialist staff. It has been developed with a solid foundation in evidence-based practice for children with SEMH. We focus on building children’s self-esteem and confidence and giving them the skills to succeed in the next step in their education journey. We do this through an integrated approach of structured opportunities and a natural learning environment. Children can develop and succeed in their passion as they participate in a wide range of activities including cooking, sewing, campfires, woodwork and many more. You will have experience of supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and communication and interaction difficulties. They will demonstrate a strong understanding of evidence-based approaches and strategies to promote engagement, emotional regulation, positive behaviour and effective communication. The HLTA will use initiative and sound professional judgement to respond appropriately to situations as they arise, adapting support and interventions to meet individual needs. They will be confident in managing challenging situations, working both independently and collaboratively with staff and external professionals, within a dynamic alternative provision environment. The role will involve leading, planning, preparing and delivering activities for individuals, small groups to access specific support or a specialist activity and to develop other support staff. It may also include monitoring and assessing pupils under an agreed system of supervision.
