Position #: 092371 Expected Start Date: October 13, 2025 Union: HSAS City/Town: TBD Department: Population Health Promotion Type: Part-time regular FTE: 0.8 Hours of Work: 180 hours per 6 weeks Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: Yes Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Health Educator - Staff $36.518 to $44.655 Travel Required: Yes Job Description: The Health Educator - Staff develops, implements, and evaluates broad strategies to create the conditions that support health, including the social determinants of health for citizens of Saskatchewan. This position develops population-based health promotion activities including: development of healthy public policy, creating supportive environments, strengthening community action, and re-orienting health services. This person works in partnership with other SHA departments and community partners to help set the direction for population health promotion activities and will advise and influence the Population Health department regarding population health promotion issues and opportunities. The Health Educator - Staff builds capacity of Population and Public Health to understand population health promotion and connections to their own work. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement" Human Resources Exemption: No Education Bachelor degree in Community Development, Social Sciences, or Health Education Competencies Computer skills Communication, writing, presentation and interpersonal skills. Knowledge and Abilities Ability to be flexible and willing to change Knowledge of population health approach to health promotion/prevention Integrity, values based and reflective practitioner Has demonstrated strong critical thinking and analytical skills Knowledge in Population Health Promotion current research on strategies/outcomes Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge in population health promotion approaches and community development Facilitation, consultation, listening and other relationship-building skills Ability to be innovative in service development, delivery, and problem solving Tact, diplomacy and ability to represent the Dept. in the public or in the media Other Information Location to be determined This position will provide service to the North East 5 area Possession of a personal vehicle suitable for use in the performance of duties Access to a reliable vehicle Valid Class 5 driver's license Registered/eligible for registration with the appropriate licensing body
