MISSION The Talent Lead architects and owns the Talent strategy across Steven.com [http://Steven.com] and its ecosystem. This is a senior leadership role responsible for building an innovative, human-first, tech-powered talent model that connects exceptional people across Steven.com [http://Steven.com], our creators, and our ventures. You will operate as a trusted partner to the founder and leadership team, setting the bar for talent quality, culture, and hiring standards across every company we build or back. This role is both strategic and hands-on. You will lead a small, effective in-house talent team while personally driving senior and high-impact hires. We believe the best talent systems are built by people who do the work - running real hiring processes, speaking to candidates, and learning where judgment, structure, and systems truly matter. EXTERNAL REPUTATION & BRAND * Steven.com [http://Steven.com] recognised as a destination for ambitious, values-aligned talent The Talent Lead established as a credible, visible voice in talent and creator circles online and in real life COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE LEADERSHIP, JUDGMENT & EXECUTION * Senior experience in talent, recruitment, or people roles in high-growth environments * Strong judgment and comfort making high-conviction hiring decisions * Comfortable personally running senior and complex hiring processes * Able to set standards and hold the line as the organisation scales * Pragmatic, action-oriented, empathetic but not fluffy STRATEGIC TALENT & COMMERCIAL THINKING * Thinks about talent as a system and community, not just a pipeline * Experience building or improving hiring processes through lived experience * Commercial mindset - focused on outcomes, performance, speed, and retention COMMUNITY, BRAND & TOOLS * Strong storyteller and relationship builder, comfortable being public-facing * Experience using LinkedIn, networks, and content to attract and engage talent * Confident using modern recruiting tools and AI to enhance sourcing, screening, and insight * Data-literate, with the ability to track and improve hiring outcomes PRACTICAL REQUIREMENTS * 8+ years’ relevant experience * Comfortable leading a team while remaining hands-on * Experience with solving talent problems * Very comfortable with innovating and implementing AI, technology, tooling and systems * Based in London (US exposure helpful but not required)
