We are currently seeking a professional to join our team in the role of: Head of Client Risk and Governance, Securities Services. We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader for the position of Head of Client Risk and Governance. This role sits within the Securities Services Non-Financial Risk team and is responsible for the end-to-end governance, risk oversight, and control framework related to our client engagements. The successful candidate will act as the central point for all client-facing non-financial risk matters, ensuring that our service delivery aligns with contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and the bank's internal risk appetite. In this role you will: Develop, implement, and maintain the client risk and governance framework for the Securities Services business and Chair or serve as a key member of governance forums, such as the Client Risk Committee, to review and challenge client-related risk profiles, significant incidents, and control deficiencies. Establish and monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and key control indicators (KCIs) specific to client risk, providing regular reporting to senior management and relevant committees. Partner with the Sales, Legal, and Implementation teams to perform robust risk assessments during the new client onboarding and contract negotiation process. Ensure that client agreements accurately reflect service capabilities and that all operational, regulatory, and reputational risks are identified and mitigated prior to onboarding and provide expert guidance on the risk implications of custom client service level agreements (SLAs) and non-standard requirements. Oversee the governance and reporting of significant client-impacting incidents. To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements: Background within Securities Services, Custody, or Asset Servicing, with a deep understanding of products (e.g., Global Custody, Fund Administration, Direct Custody) and operational processes, with a proven track record in a senior risk management, governance, or controls role, preferably within a 1st or 2nd line of defense function. Expert knowledge of non-financial risk frameworks, including operational risk, compliance, and conduct risk with strong experience in client-facing roles and a demonstrated ability to manage complex client relationships and negotiate on risk topics. Excellent understanding of the global regulatory landscape impacting Securities Services (e.g., SEC, FCA, CBI, MAS). Exceptional communication, presentation, and influencing skills, with the ability to articulate complex risk concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including C-suite executives. Ability to see the big picture and translate business strategy into a pragmatic risk framework, with excellent judgment and the ability to make tough decisions under pressure.
