A company specializing in the development and manufacture of ruggedized computers, modules, and systems is seeking a Senior Hardware Development Validation Engineer. This role entails full responsibility for the planning and execution of comprehensive validation tests at the board and system level, with a focus on integration and performance challenges of high-speed data interfaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning, writing, and executing development validation test plans for new hardware products.
- Locating, analyzing, and debugging failures at the board and system levels, in collaboration with development teams.
- Specializing in performance and signal integrity testing of high-speed interfaces.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in hardware development validation testing, in a hardware/software environment.
- Knowledge and experience with CPU platforms and associated peripherals.
- Proven and in-depth experience in testing the PCI Express interface (Gen3 and above).
- Specific experience in Physical Layer testing, including Signal Integrity, Jitter analysis, and Eye Diagram measurements.
- Experience in Functional (Protocol Layer) testing of PCIe.
- Knowledge and experience in validation testing of Video interfaces, including Digital Video (such as DisplayPort, HDMI) and Analog Video (including VGA, RS-170, and Analog RGB standards).
- Knowledge and experience with additional interfaces and protocols such as Ethernet, SATA, and USB.
- Hands-on experience with advanced test equipment such as High-speed Oscilloscope (Scope), Signal Generators & Analyzers, dedicated communication test equipment, and video testing equipment.
- Experience and knowledge in test automation and scripting - significant advantage.
Education:
B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from a recognized university.
