Mortgages are a critical pillar of a financial plan and we intend to build this into a dedicated division within our client proposition, supporting everything from first UK purchases to complex buy-to-let portfolios and expat property strategies. The Opportunity We are hiring a Group Head of Mortgages to design, own, and scale Skybound’s mortgage advice proposition from the ground up. You will have full responsibility for UK residential and buy-to-let mortgage advice, serving both UK residents and expatriates, including complex income structures, foreign currency earnings, overseas assets, and portfolio landlords. You will be the authority for mortgage advice within the business and create reciprocal referral arrangements with our network of 70 Private Wealth Advisers across the group. Key Responsibilities · Design and launch a best-in-class UK mortgage proposition integrated into our wider wealth advice model · Become the go-to for UK residential, Buy to Let, expat and non-standard lending across the group · Embed mortgages into adviser workflows as a natural part of long-term financial planning, not just a bolt-on · Build and lead the mortgage advisory function and introducer relationships · Set the technical, commercial, and regulatory standard for all mortgage activity · Take full ownership of Skybound’s mortgage strategy at Group level · Handle and structure cases involving overseas income, multiple jurisdictions, and portfolio lending · Establish and maintain senior lender relationships, negotiating terms where needed · Ensure robust FCA compliance, governance, and documentation standards are met · Drive commercial growth through adviser referrals, partnerships, and strategic initiatives · Contribute to marketing, thought leadership, and client education around property finance Desired Skills and Experience · CeMAP or equivalent qualification is essential · UK Level 4 or other wealth management qualification would be beneficial · An experienced senior mortgage professional who might have outgrown a narrow brokerage environment · Comfortable dealing with complex cases and high-value clients · Commercially minded, but advice-led · An individual seeking ownership, visibility, and long-term influence with high-net-worth or internationally mobile clients is highly advantageous Why Join Skybound? · Leadership role: Shape and lead a Group-wide mortgage proposition within a growing international business. · Integrated advice model: Work alongside wealth advisers, international specialists, and private client teams. · Global platform: Support UK and expat clients backed by a multi-jurisdictional advisory firm. · Technology-led: Benefit from Salesforce, integrated advice systems, and data-driven client insights. · Growth-focused: Clear mandate to build, scale, and innovate within the mortgage function · Supportive infrastructure: In-house compliance, marketing, and operations teams to enable high-quality advice. · Career progression: A visible role with long-term growth and strategic influence.
