General Manager – Casino Lethbridge REPORTS TO VP/Regional General Manager – Calgary SUMMARY The General Manager position will support the VP/Regional General Manager with all aspects of casino operations, including Table Games, Slots, Food & Beverage, Customer Service, Security, Promotions and Marketing, Facilities, Purchasing and Human Resources. CORE COMPETENCIES * Customer Service * Decision Making and Judgement * Leadership * Communication * Entrepreneurial JOB DUTIES * Provide general leadership to all team members * Provides oversight of the management team for all departments * Provides oversight for the departmental business plans for budgets, adhering to established guidelines, timetables and approved resources. * Evaluates all internal procedures and seeks refinements and improvements to the departmental processes and business operations. * Analyzes financial data to determine the most effective organizational plan for the operation. * Participates in formulating and administering company policies, directs and coordinates department activities. * Reviews analysis of activities, costs, operations and forecast data to determine department progress toward stated goals and objectives. * Develops, reviews, updates and implements business strategic planning including financial performance, internal controls and approved AGLC policies and procedures. * Promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction. * Assists with quality hiring, training and succession planning. * Performs additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned. * Travel is required. REQUIREMENTS * Minimum 7 years’ management experience in the service, hospitality or gaming industries * Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferred. * Casino operations and management experience required. * Excellent management, negotiating and organizational skills; * Demonstrated ability to lead a team and achieve results; * Experience in budgeting, project management, supervision of accounting, operations and human resources * Works effectively in an entrepreneurial, collaborative environment, and is able to direct and work in harmony with a diverse group of highly motivated and capable individuals. WORK CONDITIONS * Must be able to stand/sit for prolonged time periods * Pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, upward reaching and prolonged periods of standing and/or walking * Must be able to work in a fast-paced working environment * Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines.
