Role Title: Full Stack Developer
BU/Segment: Insurance
Location: Dublin, Republic of Ireland (Flexible hybrid working)
Employment Type: Permanent
Summary of the role:
Developers in this team are expected to work independently and think like product engineers, not just coders. They collaborate with the Technical Architect and Product Owner to translate business and UX requirements into secure, scalable, production-grade solutions for the EXL Premium Audit platform.
They design and implement end-to-end features (backend, frontend, integrations), proactively suggest improvements, and help shape exceptional auditor and carrier user experiences. They also provide day-to-day technical guidance to junior developers and ensure high-quality delivery.
As part of your duties, you will be responsible for:
• Work with the Technical Architect, Product Owner and BAs to understand business requirements and convert them into technical designs and implementation tasks.
• Design and build secure, scalable backend services and APIs using .NET / Entity Framework and/or Python, including data access, integrations, and background processing.
• Develop modern, responsive UIs using Angular or React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and Bootstrap, with strong attention to usability and workflow efficiency.
• Integrate with AI services and components in partnership with the AI Architect (e.g., LLM-based validations, document analysis, recommendations), including calling AI APIs and handling results in a robust way.
• Ensure code quality through unit and integration tests (e.g., JUnit, Jasmine, Karma or equivalent), code reviews, and adherence to coding standards and security best practices.
• Use source control and DevOps tools (Git, TFS) effectively, contributing to CI/CD pipelines and deployment readiness.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues within agreed SLAs, including root cause analysis and preventive improvements.
• Assist in customization and integration of third-party products and platforms (e.g., Nexus, other carrier systems) for internal and client use.
• Mentor and support junior developers on the squad, providing review, guidance, and examples of good engineering practices.
• Collaborate closely with QA Automation and Performance teams to ensure features are testable, observable, and performant.
Qualifications and experience we consider to be essential for the role:
• Solid experience (typically 4–7 years) in enterprise application development, ideally on workflow-heavy or B2B platforms.
• Strong hands-on skills in .NET / Entity Framework and/or Python, plus a modern frontend framework (Angular).
• Experience with form.io or similar schema-driven dynamic form frameworks (JSON-based forms, conditional logic, reuseable components) is a strong plus.
Skills and Personal attributes we would like to have:
• Good understanding of how AI systems work and prior experience integrating AI/ML/LLM services via APIs or SDKs.
• Comfort working with distributed teams (India / Ireland / US) and owning features end-to-end with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to think critically, challenge assumptions, and propose simpler/better technical solutions that improve user experience and business value.
As part of a leading global Data and AI company, you can look forward to:
• A competitive salary with a generous bonus, private healthcare, life assurance at 4 x your annual salary, income protection insurance, and a rewarding pension.
• At EXL, we are committed to providing our employees with the tools and resources they need to succeed and excel in their careers. We offer a wide range of professional and personal development opportunities. We also support a range of learning initiatives that allow our employees to build on their existing skills and knowledge. From online courses to seminars and workshops, our employees have the opportunity to enhance their skills and stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies.

• At EXL, we offer a flexible hybrid working model that allows employees to live a balanced, healthy lifestyle while strengthening our culture of collaboration.
To be considered for this role, you must already be eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland.
