Birmingham City Council is looking for Fleet Services Coordinators to join our newly created Vehicle Maintenance Service (VMS) to support the day-to-day operations of our fleet. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our vehicles are compliant, well-maintained, and efficiently managed. Working closely with the VMS Administration Manager and other team members, you’ll help keep our fleet safe, legal, and operational - supporting services that make a real difference across the city. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate records for vehicle tax, MOTs, insurance, and licences. Monitor servicing schedules and coordinate maintenance and tyre replacements. Assist with vehicle hire arrangements and insurance claims. Input and manage fleet data, including fuel usage and mileage. Prepare reports to support operational decision-making. Liaise with internal teams and external providers to resolve issues and ensure service continuity. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives around safety, sustainability, and cost-efficiency. What We’re Looking For Proficiency in IT systems, including fleet management software and Microsoft Office. Experience in fleet operations, transport, or logistics. Strong understanding of vehicle compliance requirements. Excellent communication and organisational skills. Commitment to safety and compliance.
