Financial Analyst – Bank Reconciliation

Position Description:

Join our dynamic team where you will play a key role in delivering relevant financial analyses, streamlining reporting processes, and supporting strategic decision-making. CGI’s Consolidation team is looking for a motivated finance professional with a strong work ethic. This position reports to the Manager of Statutory Financial Statements, Bank Reconciliation, and Intercompany. The role is based at CGI’s head office in Montréal.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Act as the primary owner of the bank reconciliation processes.
• Identify, assess, and promptly resolve discrepancies or errors.
• Prepare bank-related journal entries for payroll and investment transactions.
• Collaborate with Finance teams and business units to ensure proper documentation and resolution of variances.
• Produce journal entries and monthly analyses supporting the consolidated financial statements.
• Assist auditors and local finance teams by providing required documentation and explanations.
• Participate in other consolidation activities and projects, including internal controls, business combinations, and process improvements.
• Contribute to quarterly and annual analyses and notes to the consolidated financial statements.
• Recommend improvements to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of the reconciliation process.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
• Professional accounting designation (CPA) or candidate pursuing the designation, an asset.
• At least three years of relevant accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of accounting processes and IFRS standards (asset).
• Excellent proficiency in Excel.
• Knowledge of Hyperion (HFM) and PeopleSoft (PSA), an asset.
• Fluency in French and English (written and spoken). English proficiency is required due to the nature of the role.
• Strong autonomy, initiative, and sense of responsibility.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change.
• Strong communication skills.
