This role offers the opportunity to provide advanced technical support, installation, and maintenance of sophisticated medical and monitoring equipment within an assigned territory. The Field Service Engineer will ensure high customer satisfaction, optimize system performance, and collaborate with clinical teams and internal stakeholders. You will be responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance, software updates, and assisting with equipment demonstrations. This position demands strong analytical skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to work independently while managing time and schedules effectively. Extensive travel is expected, making this a dynamic role for someone adaptable and mission-driven. Continuous technical development and mentoring of new team members are integral components of this position.

Accountabilities

  • Install, relocate, and configure medical devices in compliance with technical documents and quality management systems.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, software updates, and equipment upgrades.
  • Act as liaison with technical support for troubleshooting and product evaluations.
  • Respond promptly to service calls and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Support regional service goals, including promoting service contracts and assisting with sales and clinical demonstrations.
  • Provide mentorship and on-the-job training to new hires.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, including service reports, timecards, and expenses.
  • Attend required technical training and stay updated on evolving technologies.
  • Uphold company values, code of ethics, and safety practices in all activities.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in electronics or related technical discipline, or equivalent technical/military training and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar technical role.
  • Experience with complex capital medical devices and large-scale equipment deployments.
  • Proficient computer skills, including networking, Windows OS, MS Office, and CRM software (e.g., SAP, Dynamics, Oracle).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills to interact effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Ability to travel extensively (up to 60%) and work varied shifts as needed.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb/stand on ladders for extended periods.
  • Willingness to relocate within the assigned region as required.
